At Digital Woman Uganda, we are committed to leveraging technology to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV), particularly in rural communities where access to support services is limited. Our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) platform empowers women by providing them with a confidential, accessible, and timely space to report GBV and seek counseling through feature phones—no internet required. This innovative solution ensures that women can access support at their convenience. The system profiles them and provides personalized assistance without requiring an internet connection.
Through the use of keypress navigation, women can safely and privately engage with counselors and access crucial information. This is a vital tool for women in rural areas who face multiple barriers in accessing help.
The platform also connects users with trained GBV counselors, offering them personalized guidance and support through phone consultations. It’s an easy-to-use, scalable solution that doesn’t rely on smartphones or internet access, making it available to women in even the most marginalized communities.
Our goal is to bring about real, lasting change in the lives of women, empowering them with easy access to support, education, and resources to help break the cycle of violence. Together, we can work towards ending GBV through technology!
